# Link Threads

> Connect a Threads profile through its associated Instagram account.

> Threads authorization uses the Instagram account associated with the Threads profile.

## Connect Threads

1. Open **Accounts** and select **Threads**.
2. Choose **Connect**.
3. Sign in with the Instagram account associated with the intended Threads profile.
4. Approve every requested Threads permission.
5. If this profile was connected previously, choose **Continue** to renew the authorization.
6. Return to Overlap and confirm the Threads profile appears as **Connected**.

If a required permission was turned off, open the Threads website-permission settings, restore access, and relink the account in Overlap.

  Signing in with an Instagram account that does not have the intended Threads profile will connect the wrong identity or leave no eligible profile to select.
