# Link YouTube

> Connect a YouTube channel through the correct Google account.

> The Google account completing authorization must own or have the appropriate Brand Account role for the YouTube channel.

## Before you begin

* Confirm the Google account has a YouTube channel.
* Confirm the channel is public and in good standing.
* Use the channel owner or an appropriate Brand Account owner or manager. Delegated YouTube Studio access alone may not be available to external API connections.
* Google service accounts cannot be connected to a YouTube channel for this purpose.

## Connect YouTube

1. Open **Accounts** and select **YouTube**.
2. Choose **Connect**.
3. Select or sign in to the Google account associated with the channel.
4. Choose the specific YouTube channel you want Overlap to use.
5. Approve each requested permission screen by choosing **Continue**.
6. Return to Overlap and confirm the channel appears as **Connected**.

If the wrong Google account is selected automatically, sign out of it or retry in a private browser window with only the intended account signed in.

  If only the channel owner can complete authorization, use **Invite YouTube owner** on the Accounts page instead of asking them to share credentials.
