Play every clip faster or slower — for example 1.5x — without re-editing anything by hand. The Change Speed node is an editing action that sets one playback speed for every clip in the run. It works the same way as the per-segment Adjust Speed control in the Studio editor: voices keep their natural pitch, and everything tied to the speech moves with it.
Schema
- Input: Clips from an upstream node (typically Find Clips)
- Output: The same clips, set to play at the chosen speed
Add the node
Open Workflows from the left sidebar and click New to open the workflow builder. Add a trigger and a Find Clips node first. In the Editing stage, choose Change Speed. Overlap adds the action node to the canvas and connects it to the workflow path. It can sit anywhere after Find Clips. Its position relative to other editing nodes doesn’t change the result.Configure the speed
- Speed — Anywhere from 0.5x (half speed) to 2x (double speed). Drag the slider or pick a preset. The default is 1.5x.
How it behaves
- Subtitles stay locked to the words being spoken.
- B-roll, image overlays, and speaker name cards move with the speech they belong to.
- Filler-word, silence, and other cuts are kept; the remaining footage plays at the new speed.
- Fixed-length elements — a title shown for 5 seconds, transitions, an end card — keep their real-time length, exactly as they do when you change speed in the editor.
- Background music is not sped up; it plays normally for the new, shorter (or longer) clip.
- Clips get shorter when sped up and longer when slowed down. A 60-second clip at 1.5x plays in 40 seconds.
